Gas Welding - Brass

Process of Joining Two Metal Pieces
by

Brass welding or brazing is a process of joining two pieces of brass by heating them slightly above the melting point along with a filler material (i.e. brass rod). Filler material flows in the gaps and cools down to join the two pieces. Filler material is used along with flux (locally known as ‘Suhaga’) to prevent the metals to form oxides. Since, LPG gas is used for heating, it is commonly known as ‘Gas welding’. After welding, the piece behaves like a single metal unit and the joint is seamless.
