Learning and memory are often seen as repetitive and mundane, but what if they could be transformed into a creative, playful, and deeply engaging process? This project explores how the ancient method of loci or memory palace technique can be reimagined in a tangible, interactive form. The result is ORMA, a constructive toy designed to help users physically build and organize memory structures, making memorization effective, fun, and intuitive. By combining spatial play with creative abstraction, ORMA empowers learners especially children to craft their own “mind palaces” using tactile, multisensory interactions. It shifts memorization from a rote exercise into an imaginative experience where thoughts are turned into memorable physical forms. This document presents the design journey, experiments, and insights behind ORMA, showcasing how it bridges cognitive development, creativity, and kinesthetic learning into a single playful system.
