Dhabla is one of the oldest and renowned handloom weaving craft of Gujarat. It is a handloom crafted piece of textile woven in two halves joined from the centre with hand stitches. The term Dhablo or Dhabli refers to the Blanket, and it is worn and used by men of the Rabari community. They utilize it in various ways. They drape it around their upper body as a shawl to shield against cold or rain, sit on it during rests on their journeys, use it as a bedspread, and cover themselves while sleeping. This prestigious piece of textile accompanies them year-round, casually carried over the shoulder, even in the summer months.
