The main building of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is one of the most iconic structures on the campus. The modern architectural style of the five-story Nandan Nilekani Main Building was intended to support academic and administrative functions. The renowned main building of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay is known as the 'Nandan Nilekani Main Building' in recognition of Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilekani's charitable contributions to the university. In 1973, he joined IIT-Bombay as a B Tech (electrical engineering) student. The director, deputy director, registrar, dean of academics, and other important administrative staff members' offices are located in the main building. It is frequently among the first structures guests encounter when they arrive at the institute and serves as a significant landmark on the campus. It also plays a central role in many official functions and ceremonies.
