The Story of Time is about the history of IDC. Spanning a fifty-year history and just a half-century less than that of the momentous arrival of Bauhaus, Twenty-two years after the country’s independence and only seven years after the setting up of NID. The most fundamental question about history is always: “How did it happen?” It's a question that the new design schools of recent years are of relatively recent origin (because of policy imperatives until the late nineties, higher education was still not privatized to allow the private sector to participate in initiating design schools). The new design schools of recent years are bound to ask the question, “How did it happen?” because it helps them find anchorage in an institution that has found its way through the vicissitudes of times that were less settled—being bootstrapped for resources, for opportunities, for technologies, for markets, for international exposure.
