As the name suggests “Motibharat” the majorly consumed soul of the craft is ‘Moti’ which means beads. Traditionally the artifacts are made on white background and designs and patterns were highlighted with coloured stones like red, yellow, green and blue. Earlier the beads made of stones were used and then glass beads were imported from Italy and other parts of Europe. Now the beads are sourced from Banaras and Faridabad. There are local vendors and dealers who source from these destinations and supply to artisans like Sitaben. Threads are having an inevitable role as raw material in the making of ‘Motibharat’. The threads are mostly nylon and cotton which are sourced locally from the local vendors. The tools involved in the making of Needles and trimmers as well as some plates.
