Solar energy is clean and abundant source of energy. This energy is utilized for many applications and cooking is one of them. There are various types of solar cookers available in the market, but they are not that efficient. Each one has its pros and cons.

For using currently available solar cookers, users need to have open space where they will get ample amount of continuous sunlight, the users need to track the sun all day, the whole process of cooking takes place outside kitchen and it is very slow and cumbersome process.

This project is an attempt to make the whole cooking activity quick, easy and inside kitchen while using steam generated from solar energy for a single home usage. The affordable steam generation technology developed by Heat Pump Lab, Mechanical Department (IITB) is adopted while the product which uses this steam is designed during this project.

The 7Cs of innovation as guided by Prof. B K Chakravarthy was the design methodology adopted for the project. This report outlines the detailed design process followed during the project.
