    Slide - 1

Background colour for IIT B campus is changed from Black to Cream, creating a subtle contrast.

The main road, outside the campus is now coloured in Brown, which makes it stand out from the background. However Brown colour makes it appear like a dirt road, instead of the tar road that it is.

    Slide - 2

In the earlier iteration, contrast was too stark on the eye. The problem of contrast was solved by changing colours as shown in this slide.

    Slide - 3

In this iteration, the landmass of campus does not stand out like an individual shape. Instead, you will notice the roads and numbers in the foreground. The landmass is now in the background. This is what we meant by stark versus subtle contrast. It helps you highlight certain things, it creates an information hierarchy.

    • What is information hierarchy?
    • Roads within the campus have two kinds of thicknesses. What does such representation achieve?
