Designers have been experimenting with fonts since its inception. Successful explorations often become mainstream, and one such example is interlocking fonts in Latin script. It is also common to see interlocking in Arabic calligraphy (namely Diwani Jali and Square Kufic) and contemporary Devanagari calligraphy.

This project explores ways of interlocking in Devanagari script. With brief background research, most of the project articulates various explorations and design detailing of one chosen font. The outcome is a modulated Devanagari font in which the vertical structure of glyphs is manipulated to facilitate interlocking. The report ends with artworks showcasing the use cases of the font.
