India is the world's largest milk producer, contributing an impressive 22% of the global supply. However, the dairy industry in India remains largely unregulated, leading to the use of inappropriate and often unsafe vehicles by dairy farmers. These vehicles pose safety risks for both farmers and other road users. This project aims to address these issues by thoroughly understanding the challenges faced by dairy farmers, their needs, and their aspirations. The goal is to design a specialized vehicle for door-to-door fresh milk delivery, that offers a safe, comfortable, and efficient experience for dairy farmers across various terrains.
The vehicle should be capable of transporting 100-110 liters of milk securely and comfortably. It should enhance the advantages of traditional two-wheelers, providing a familiar and balanced riding experience while minimizing running costs. The design should reflect the user’s values of tradition, simplicity, ease of use, and affordability. Additionally, it should be ruggedly built to withstand the physical stresses and demands of the delivery process.
