Nested stories have been around for centuries or probably from millenniums. Here frequently stories are nested and looped within other stories. It’s another approach is to tell a series of stories. Some famous old examples are Arabian Nights, One Thousand and One Nights, Ramayana, etc.

According to many authors, this technique is hard to do well, because unless the story is not long enough, not all stories may have enough space to develop thoroughly.
