My P3 is a design project to explore creative data visualization methods and their usefulness in communicating economic insights to a general audience. My project uses data visualization to communicate the impact of Randomized control trials in designing social welfare policies. I extensively use the research findings of the 2019 Nobel prize winners in economics: Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo, and Michael Kremer. Through their work in developmental economics, Banerjee, Duflo, and Kremer have pioneered an innovative and scientifically rigorous approach towards designing welfare policies using Randomised Control Trials (RCTs). I will study the data collected by these economists and create an interactive data visualization narrative around it. This narrative will summarise their work using multiple static and interactive data visualizations.
