Nagaland is often been called a land of festivals because of its 16 major tribes. Every month there is one festival from one or the other tribes. Nagas are indigenous people lives in the forest area of Nagaland. The decoration on the houses of Nagas depict the  wealth of the owner. Some of them use actual skulls of mithun and buffalo adorning the front porch of the house. Most of the traditional houses use tassels of thatching grass. Every house depicts their tribe like a headhunter’s house has a head (wooden) hanging in top front of their house. Also they use lot of woodcarving to decorate their house. The Lothas and the Rengmas also erect stone sculptures in their houses. The Tangkhul Naga presents the best carvings on the door and the houses carved with relief of mithun head and life size figures, rows of human heads in high relief.
