Hiriyur town is located in Chitradurga district which is 160 km away from Bangalore in Karnataka state. Aluminium is a metal which is derived from bauxite ore. The craftsmen in Hiriyur are engaged in manufacturing the most commonly used aluminium utensils that serves different purposes in a daily life. The Aluminium sheet is shaped on a metal spinning lathe and finally the product is polished and washed to obtain the silver sheen. In Hiriyur, men folk involves in vessel making, wherein women folk helps the men in polishing and washing processes.
