The carved TajMahal, coasters and plates are painted upon with poster colors. Colors are applied one at a time. Animals like elephants, camel, peacock are the most common ones to be painted. They are extensively decorated as well. Parts of the Taj (foundation, main building structure, dome, minarets, etc.) are painted only by the women. Infact, one of them called Rami, has been painting for the last thirty years. She remembers: earlier she used to get twelve rupees per dozen which has now gone upto one hundred and fifty rupees per dozen.
