Opening The Moulds

  • Printer-friendly version

After 24 hours, the mould is dismantled slowly part by part. The clay inside is still soft and workable, but hard enough to retain the shape of the form. The clay has to be soft & workable so that finishing and detailing can be carried out easily.

The images show the opening of the mould part by part. The end form is of a crocodile.

The image shows another example of a form that has been just dismantled from the mould. This form of a pot will then be used for detailing and finishing.
