Introduction to Day 24
Today, under Warm up, we quickly revise all that we did in the Workouts from session 1-5, and upto Day 23.
For Workout, we draw cubes and cylinders in perspective space, using different tools.
Under Sense of Perspective Space, we have three simple object compositions at various orientations to be drawn by you, freehand! to test your current prowess in operating in a perspective space.

Can you draw objects placed at inclined angles in space, that too intuitively?
Do your own warm-up in preparation of the test. Do practice Cubes in Perspective Space on a large surface for the last few minutes.
For today's test, we have a composition of objects aligned at various angles in space to test your prowess in drawing accurate freehand perspectives.

Warm up

15 minute Exercise:

0-5 mins   : Practice very fast hand and body movements while drawing Horizontal, Vertical and Inclined Lines, Curvatures, Radial Lines and Rings, followed by various Sinuous Lines and Springs.
5-15 mins : Now, repeat the various workouts covered in Session-1-5 WITHOUT the underlay grids and on a LARGE SURFACE. As a warm up exercise, the focus must be on maintaining correct hand and body movement while drawing the lines fluently.
                   While drawing these, remember to:
                   1. Draw them for various lengths, diameters and radii, as we practiced earlier.
                   2. Draw lines in either direction and curvatures, both clockwise and anti-clockwise.
                   3. Draw them at various pace - fast, slow, fast to slow in a single line, etc.

This practice of initially drawing the lines fast and then slowing down will help your body get into smoother drawing action for the workouts and perspective exercises ahead.
Do ensure that you keep aside a few minutes to draw lines and planes in perspective space.

Workout Test

1. Aim: Drawing Cubes and Cylinders in Perspective Space

Instructions:
Do NOT use extension lines.

Task-1: Draw a composition of 10 cubes with same vanishing points. The cubes can be of any size. The vanishing points must be located 10cm from top and from right and left edges of the sheet, as shown in the image 24.1 below

Task-2: Draw cylinders in space using two vanishing points on the drawing sheet. Since cylinders drawn near the four edges will be distorted, use the middle part of the drawing paper only. Use a soft pencil and a shroud for this exercise.

Sense of Perspective Space

1. Aim: Drawing cylinders in varied orientations
            Self-evaluation criteria:
            • The objects drawn must all finally appear to belong to the same space (have the same vanishing points)

Instructions:
You are allowed to mark vanishing points but, NOT draw any extention lines.

Exercise:
Provided below are the Plans and 2 Side elevations for each of the tasks.

(b) D24_cylinder-and-cone-on-45-deg-plane-in-perspective-space
(c) D24_3D-trapezoid-on-30-60-deg-plane-in-perspective-space

Task-1: cylinders in varied orientations

Task-2: cylinder and cone on a plane oriented at 45 degrees to picture plane

Task 3: 3D-trapezoid on a plane oriented at 30-60 degrees to picture plane
bjects at inclinations: Two objects lying on a board
trapezoidal volume @45 deg on a plane at 30-60 to pp

Review:
After you finish, superimpose the tracing paper you drew on over correctly printed versions to review your solution. [Download...Objects aligned at different angles in Space_Solution]

Discussion: Objects aligned at different angles in Space
The cylinder and the cone require that a circle be drawn
Provided below is the Plan and 2 Side Elevations of a composition of objects aligned at different angles on a perspective base plane. Draw its 3D view by freehand sketch. Only visualise the horizon and vanishing points. DO NOT mark them on the sheet.
